Near the world famous archeological site there is the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary, which we suggest you to see together with the bell tower for a spectacular view from above of the ruins and its surroundings. Afterwards, you will be driven up to 1000 meters height in the Vesuvius National Park. From here you will be able to reach the crater of the volcano by walking a panoramic path. It will be like walking on the moon and you will see with your own eyes hydrothermal activities and effusive gaseous manifestations. You will be then transferred to the town center to visit the great Flavian Anphitheater (the third largest Italian Anphitheater), its underground and the Macellum, a Roman market place which has been erroneously called for years Temple of Serapis because of a statue of Serapis found during the first excavation.

Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast

An itinerary that will make you live all the beauty, the colors and the smells of the stretch of the most famous Italian coastline

Morning

The tour begins from the Sorrentine Peninsula, overlooking the Bay of Naples, with trips through typical small towns such as Vico Equense and Meta, until the magical Sorrento. Here you will be able to spend some time walking in the town alleys and down in the port area. For lunch we suggest you to have the Neapolitan street food “panzerotto,” a stuffed pizza bread with tomato and mozzarella cheese or, alternatively, you can have lunch in a “trattoria” and order “spaghetti allo scoglio,” a typical first course with mussels and clams from the local sea stretch.

Afternoon

Our driver will take you to Positano travelling on the Amalfi Drive, a road that connects the Sorrentine Peninsula to the Amalfi Coast. On the way you will see the many orange groves, vinyards and lemon groves, typical of the area, where they grow the tasteful and juicy lemons for “limoncello.”
Arrival in Positano. Our driver will stop at a belvedere overlooking the colorful town streets, to let you take postcard-like pictures and then he will take you down to the heart of Positano for a pleasant walk along the narrow alleys.
After Positano the tour continues by driving the only panoramic route that leads to Amalfi. Besides the breathtaking view embraced by the green of the mountains and the blue of the sea, you will stop on the way to take a look at the unexpected fjord of Furore. Once in Amalfi you can walk around tasting the real Italian gelato and visiting the beautiful Dome, chosen every year by hundreds of couples from around the world to celebrate their wedding.

The last stop will be Ravello, also known as “the world’s most beautiful terrace,” thanks to its dominating position over the coast. Ravello has always been an inspiration for artists from all over the world, from the German compositor Wagner to the English painter Turner.

* Upon request we can book for you a visit of a local farmhouse, where they make homemade limoncello, lemon marmalade and many other lemon-based products. They will show you how they make limoncello and they will guide you for a walk into the grove surrounded by the intoxicating smell of the lemon trees.
